Insulin Outcry
As you may already know, those who suffer from the disease diabetes require an additional supply of insulin in order to live. Those who have been uninsured and need this product have struggled the most. The market is financially making it very difficult to acquire the needed medication even though the producers of it have not been benefiting like they should. Just like the Epi pen, prices have soared from around 115 dollars a vile in 2009 to a whopping 250 dollars a vile during present day. However, the big producers are not seeing a rise in share from greater sales. Instead the middle man pharmaceutical organizations offer rebates and discounts on these medicines to those eligible. Entirely this has caused the big producers to actually make less money on the drug today compared to 2009 where the market price was significantly lower too. This makes it extremely difficult for those who are uninsured to afford these products. Along with that, even the insured are having troubles with this as well. A price increase of a health product you need in order to live results in the insurance deductibles going up. Deductibles for annual health products like this can be up to 4000 dollars and higher. Many people can barley afford this but have to have it in order to live. This only puts them deeper into a hole of financial risk though. For a lot of people it's the loss of a safety net. I believe restricting someone in a life or death situation is unethical by businesses and instead they should be more apparent accommodate to specifically the consumers needs.

This is a great post because what these companies are doing is running a monopoly on the market. This is a product that people have to have in order to live. For many people even with insurance causing them to go broke is outrageous and unethical. I personally am severely allergic to peanuts as I must cary around an Epi pen. As the medicine expires in only a little amount of time I am forced to spend another $250 every time. I personally believe the government should step in for both of these health necessities products as they are letting these company's get away with raising prices on products that haven't changed a single bit. This was a great post and I hope someone does something about this outrage.
